While the firm's attorneys prepare for and are regularly engaged in trial, we are mindful that our clients' interests are ordinarily best served by not being involved in litigation, and to this end we actively seek ways to resolve disputes through negotiation and alternative dispute resolution procedures without our clients having to incur the expense, unpredictability, and loss of productive employee resources which can accompany the trial of a disputed claim.

In each case, we evaluate liability and damages at the earliest possible opportunity to determine whether the case can be resolved by negotiated settlement, motion for summary judgment or voluntary dismissal. If the matter cannot be resolved in this way, we undertake discovery of relevant facts and issues in order to prepare the case for trial. We believe that a well-prepared case will result in a successful resolution, whether by settlement or by jury verdict.

In the course of products liability and construction defect claims we have worked closely with in-house professionals such as engineers, product designers and safety experts in evaluating claims in order to make realistic and prompt recommendations. Because the nature of our practice requires us to work regularly with technical experts in numerous disciplines, we have identified and developed good working relationships with many forensic experts. We are often able to draw on these relationships for the benefit of our clients.
